An Indiana native, Gabriel Lehman has developed a unique style which he’s dubbed “illustrative surrealism.” He creates pseudo-realistic characters, many whom appear in an ongoing series, and places them in surrealistic or dream-like settings. The world he has created does not include modern technology, leaving his characters to find other means of light, transportation, and energy.
Lehman’s family-centric, whimsical paintings evoke a childlike sense of wonder and imagination within all who view his art. He sees the light all around him and transfers this light into his work, simply wanting to bring joy to his collectors and those who appreciate his paintings.
The gallery is currently exhibiting seven original paintings by Gabriel with more scheduled to arrive later this year. His works are an absolute must-see and have quickly become among the most compelling pieces at Gallery Forty-Two.
