Nearly 50 philanthropic guests attended Gallery Forty-Two’s grand opening gala on Wednesday, September 24, to help celebrate the gallery’s opening while raising funds in support of Riley Hospital for Children. The event, co-hosted by Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne, raised more than $11,000 all of which was donated to Riley’s Creative Arts Therapy Program.
“Celebrating the opening of Gallery Forty-Two in such a historic building coupled with a fundraising effort for Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, was an honor,” said Russ Williams, COO at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
“This fundraiser, benefiting Riley’s Arts Therapy Program, was a perfect way to feature the work of various artists and educate the community about our arts therapy program. Riley Hospital for Children is grateful to Gallery Forty-Two and the Indianapolis community for raising awareness and necessary funds for such a valuable program. Thank you!”
The occasion also marked the first event held in the in the newly restored historic building at 42 E. Washington St. in downtown Indianapolis. The once-fledgling building, which dates back to the 1830’s, was acquired by JHL Properties in late 2012 prior to commencing the revitalization project.
