Gallery Forty-Two has announced plans for the grand opening of its 2,500 square foot retail gallery space at 42 East Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis. The gallery will be opening on Friday, September 26, 2014 with a public reception from 5-8 p.m., complete with food, beverages and live music.
“After nearly two years of preparation, acquiring art and forging relationships with national and international master artists, we are extremely excited to unveil our contribution to the Indianapolis art community and city of Indianapolis as a whole, ” said Curt Hunter, partner at Gallery Forty-Two.
Gallery Forty-Two is located in the historic building at 42 East Washington Street along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. The structure, which dates back to the 1830’s, was acquired by JHL Properties in late 2012 before undergoing an extensive restoration project. Though modernized during the building’s construction, certain 19th century features were restored and preserved to maintain the building’s historical significance.
